Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: March 2026

This policy explains how to request deletion of your personal data and what happens when you do. It supplements our Privacy Policy and is provided in accordance with your right to erasure under Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. How to Request Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal data in either of the following ways:

  • From your user profile settings (when available)
  • By e-mail to [email protected] from the address registered to your account
2. Verification and Processing Time

Before we delete your data, we perform a brief identity verification to confirm the request is genuine. This protects you in the event that someone else gains access to your account and attempts to delete your data. During verification, we may contact you at the e-mail address on your account.

Deletion is completed within 30 calendar days of your request being confirmed. This is in line with the GDPR requirement to act "without undue delay."

3. What Is Deleted

Upon confirmed deletion of your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your e-mail address
  • Your phone number (if provided)
  • Your password or authentication tokens
  • Your profile information
  • Your private messages and correspondence
  • Property listings or ads you have posted (where not yet transferred to or relied upon by another user)
  • Any consent records tied to your account

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

4. What May Be Retained and Why

In limited cases, some data associated with your activity may be retained after account deletion. This is done only where there is a specific legal justification:

  • Authorship attribution on shared content - if you published content (e.g. property listings, messages) that was shared with or accessed by other users, your first and last name as the author may remain attached to that content. This is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of other users and to prevent disputes over content origin (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). This retained data is limited to your name only.
  • Security and fraud prevention logs - anonymised or pseudonymised records in server logs (e.g. IP address, access timestamps) may be retained for up to 12 months for security purposes (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These are not linked to your account after deletion.
  • Legal obligations - if we are required by law to retain certain data (e.g. for tax or anti-fraud compliance), we will retain only the minimum required and for no longer than the applicable legal period.
