Description
The original cellar is located on a flat plot of over 1000 m2 on the vineyard hill in the cadastre of the village of Modrany.
It is a small house consisting of a brick vaulted cellar with an entrance hall and storage space in the attic. It has been unused for years, all the wine-making equipment has remained in it, just as it was last stored after the harvest and processing of the wine. One feels as if time has stopped here, even the old oil lamp still proudly hangs on the wall.
The cellar stands approximately in the middle of the plot, behind it is a dense growth of various trees. The front part of the plot could be used for building another cottage or cellar. Access to the plot is via a partially asphalted and unpaved road from the village. Recently, a municipal water supply has been brought to the vineyard hill, the connection is already prepared right at the plot, currently, water is being drawn from a communal well. Electricity is also within reach, which runs directly alongside the small house.
The vineyard is located about 1.5 km from the center of the village. The village of Modrany is only 20 km from the district town of Komárno and belongs to a significant wine-growing area where the best wines in Slovakia are produced. This is evidenced by the local wine festivals that are organized annually right by the plot.
From the vineyard hill, there is an incredible view of the peak of the Hungarian mountain range Gerecse, which along with the mighty Danube River forms the border with Hungary. The wealth of the Danube region, such as the numerous thermal baths, historical sites, the international cycling route Eurovelo 6, and beautiful Danube beaches, are just a small taste of leisure activities.
